Friday the 13th proved to be a good day after all...Bob and Debbie McCollum of Raleigh joined me on a cooler morning with a steady westerly breeze. We decided to meet on the mainland side and just go fishing. I hadn't fished over there virtually all season and was excited to go looking. These two were the perfect companions for a trip like this. Both were patient and persistent and throughout the morning we picked away at speckled and grey trout, a handful at each place we tried. Later we beat the marsh points and caught a few drum here and there, finally ending up on a nice school of slot size drum that really made our day. Classy people, a leeward shore and no other boats always make for a fun time. Can't wait to see these two again sometime...
