Back in the sound for a while

Been in Hatteras for two weeks fishing tournaments, then came home late Friday evening to prepare for a tuna trip out of Oregon Inlet on Saturday. We caught the tunas and gaffers good on Sat, and caught a lot of them on topwater spinning tackle...Fun! Anyway, I got back in the sound Sunday afternoon with Pam Smith who brought her husband, her brother and her trusty canine companion Miller. They live out west of here a ways and were staying in Waves for a few days. We had a challenge with the hard afternoon SW wind and the full moon. It proved to be a scrappy time, but we managed to find an area that wasn't too rough and beat it out for a good handful of speckles, two puppy drum and a little striper. These were great people and we talked catfishing, turkey hunting, good food and the inability to find a good glass of "real" sweet tea on the outer banks...I am fortunate to have had some quality groups this season. I really enjoyed having y'all and if you come back sometime I hope we have a better day to go after 'em...
