She only catches keepers

Today I had a father/daughter team of competetive anglers from up Va. way...Joe and Hanna Carson are friends of my family. Their family got to know mine through his service as DS for the York River District Methodist churches where he was quickly ushered into the Ware Neck fold whenever he made it out that way. He quickly learned how good the food was and became a regular and a good hunting buddy of my dad and uncle. What I didn't know about him was how well he raised young girls to become fishermen. I promised I wouldn't embellish too much, but suffice it to say that Hanna caught her fair share. Joe seemed as if he had been in this situation before, as he stood stoic in the bow...but was REALLY TRYING TO GET THAT NEXT BITE. Joe got some bites now, but the day was Hanna's...And I could tell down deep that there was no one any happier than Joe. We dealt with a lot of wind and some crummy conditions, but these two stayed on point, cast after cast until we realized we had probably gotten what we were gonna get. They even worked through having brought a banana onboard. Lord knows what we would have done under pristine circumstances...HaHa. I'm doing a lot of teasing but I sincerely enjoyed these two. I told Hanna that I hope my girls will still want to hang with me when they're her age...Heck, I won't even mind if they sack me up...Thanks again!
