An extraordinary day...

Posted By: JJ

Mr. Burroughs said it best. After the smoke cleared and all the feathers settled on the water, he sat down with a Miller lite to ponder what had just taken place. "This has been an extraordinary day", he said simply... We had caught over 50 trout in the morning and kept out enough nice ones for he and his grandson to eat. We then steamed all around the island looking for a puppy drum or flounder to no avail. With blue skies and a light East breeze we decided to run back to the spot we had fished 2 hours earlier to see what was still around. We caught nicer class specks on literally every cast for another hour and a half until we finally just laid the rods down. It was one of the best days I have ever seen in the sound and I am thankful that I got to share it with these two fellas. They are the kind of group that makes you realize that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing...Sometimes it just all comes together.
