Solo in the Nursery

Scouting missions are fun. A lot of times they might come at 5:30 before the rest of the crowd is up and rolling. Sometimes they come at lunchtime when everyone else is eating. Regardless, if you get a free hour you go. You go so you'll know when it matters. A lot of times it consists of marking grass, checking depths, looking for dropoffs, ledges, points with water moving by...Sometimes your first cast tells the tale, sometimes your last cast yields the same as your first...Nada. This day I ran across the way and it seemed like I was on the daycare flats...Little rock, little trout and the littlest drum ever. Still fun though. Caught a baby rock with a tag that I just learned had traveled 159 miles in 29 days and grown 2 inches. Also saw a sharp change where the fresh water was pushing out of a feeder creek into the sound into a delightful motor oil to chocolate milk break. Sometimes they'll bite in the chocolate milk though. That's where I found the lone adult in the bunch... Exploring....
