Romans

I was very fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to meet and fish with this father/son duo out of Ohio. The Romans family was vacationing here and Adam called to book a morning for he and his dad. We set out right on top of the trout and had several really good flurries here and there throughout the morning. The size was mixed and there were a lot of critter bites, but we wound up catching 20 or 30 trout I'd say. The highlight of it all for me was as a spectator enjoying the competitive banter between these two. It was back and forth the whole time, a dry ongoing dialogue spiced with a matter of fact jab whenever one of the two held a hotter hand...It was classic and it made me think of the importance of the relationship between fathers and sons and how perfect a stage that fishing is to accentuate the raw competitiveness between men, but more importantly the love and respect that runs deeper than anything. It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip...
