We scrapped it out

Posted By: JJ

Today I had the pleasure of taking the Borgione family from the Cleveland Ohio area fishing. Dave, Kathy, Brad and Brian. We were dealt a stronger wind than anticipated so we steamed across the sound to fish the leeward side of the mainland. We scrapped along, fishing many, many different normally productive areas with not much to show. We picked a few specks and a flounder or two until the breeze fell out some. Then we steamed back across the sound to fish the areas that I had intended on fishing originally. All in all we fished a couple of hours extra and managed to salvage a day through determination and persistence. We ended up with 10 or so mixed flounder, a decent handful of drum and trout, a few bluefish and some hungry kicker medium croakers on the jigs. Very fun day spent with a classy bunch of folks. Their first time to the Outer Banks and I hope they enjoy the rest of their stay
